THE ATTORNEY AND SUBURBAN STROLLER – STEPHEN HARRIS

Stephen Harris, a practising attorney, is also known as the Suburban Stroller in Cape Town, with the start of his blog – www.suburbanstroller.co.za. “I am a restless soul and among other things, I like writing and walking”, he says, “adventures aren’t only found in distant and exotic places but also wherever we are in the suburbs.”

His blogs are about everyday adventures and misadventures in the suburbs of the City. It features his stories and encounters with other adventurers along the way, whose stories may inspire and amuse. “I am particularly interested in profiling entrepreneurs and small businesses”, he says. On his blog, he has written profiles on the owners of the Lebanese Bakery and Manny’s Fish Shop in Claremont.

His content is equally about misadventures and the broader issues they raise about South African society which includes social commentary on gender-based violence, homophobia and homelessness. Harris aims to continue using his writing skills to amuse, entertain and occasionally outrage with his stories.
