TRAVEL AFRICA TV – DIGITAL TOURISM IN A WORLD-CLASS CITY

Founded by Maggie Mutangiri, Cape Town-based Travel Africa TV is a digital tourism agency that promotes African tourism and hospitality using 2D video, virtual and augmented reality.

Mutangiri said, “Cape Town is a world-class destination, and is like no other. Not only is it a cosmopolitan city, but it has a good climate and great infrastructure. That’s why I chose it as my home and base from which to operate.”

Mutangiri said that since its inception, Travel Africa TV has been recognised as a Gold Media company for content production by the World Travel Market Africa exhibition and has created a curated travel channel that is available in hotel rooms in Cape Town and is expanding into other countries in Africa.

“We have just signed an agreement with EUTELSAT, one of the biggest satellite companies,” says Mutangiri, “to launch a satellite TV channel called Travel Africa Network, the first 24/7 365 days a year travel channel to be featured in 135 million homes in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East and North Africa. This allows us to create a dedicated media house producing content first on our beautiful home destination Cape Town and to the rest of Africa all the way to Egypt.“
