BUSINESS BRIEF BY ALDERMAN JAMES VOS, THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN MAYORAL COMMITTEE MEMBER FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH

We believe that economic growth for all is the most powerful instrument to create jobs and improving the quality of life for all Capetonians.

Considering the current economic climate, I realise starting a business and keeping it afloat is harder than before, especially coming out of a period of lockdowns and persistent loadshedding. This is something that I’ve heard from many of you.

My team and I will do everything within our power, together with stakeholders and business partners, to work relentlessly to make Cape Town the easiest place to do business in Africa.

This brings new opportunities and responsibilities. Therefore as the City of Cape Town government, especially the work we do through my department, is to grow the depth and diversity of our economic geography, for those that participate and for those that consume, with a strong focus on building sustainable businesses and entrepreneurs, with our programmes and platforms.
