Cape Town Boatbuilder on Track to Deliver 190 Luxury Catamarans This Year

South Africa’s biggest boat builder, Robertson and Caine, delivers approximately three 40-foot luxury catamarans to the international market every week. And next year the company expects to produce and sell more than 200 high-end boats – all of which will be locally designed and built. This volume, and full order book until 2020, is thanks to an exclusive distribution deal with the special travel company, Travelopia. So, if you’ve been on a sailing trip in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, or Seychelles, there’s a good chance you boarded a catamaran that had its beginnings in this busy Woodstock shipyard. And although they usually make their way into the international charter world, if you’re in the market for a new vessel, they can also be bought outright and delivered to a jetty at the V&A Waterfront.
