The World Ocean is the largest ecosystem on our planet, contributing enormously to the world’s economy.  A decline in ocean-health could cost the global economy $425 billion pa by 2050; it’s little surprise then that we need to ensure ecological integrity and maintain biodiversity to ensure sustainability for all life forms.

One company that is leading the way in ensuring sustainable ocean development is OceanHub Africa. It supports ocean-minded start-ups to succeed and inspires more entrepreneurs to join the movement towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of a sustainable ocean economy by 2030.

The Event – Africa’s Ocean Innovation Summit 2020.

OceanHub is hosting an event which brings together entrepreneurs, investors, leaders and corporates alike, in sharing innovative and disruptive technologies for a more sustainable ocean economy.

Africa’s Ocean Innovation Summit 2020 takes place in November this year and will be held virtually in keeping with the social distancing protocols. It provides an extraordinary wealth of knowledge over various teaching platforms such as TED-style talks, interactive panel discussions, B2B matchmaking and much more.

Reasons why you should attend.

The oceans are our planet’s life support system, producing more than half of the world’s oxygen and absorbs 30 times more carbon dioxide than our atmosphere; it also regulates our climate, so by attending this innovatory event you become part of the solution in saving our oceans and will be dubbed a superhero of planet earth.

Economically, it makes sense to become more sustainable as our oceans contribute billions each year to the economy. A whopping 90 per cent of all world trade is carried by maritime support providing millions of jobs and creates investment opportunities in innovative development.
