Update from the Cape Clothing & Textile Cluster on the manufacturing of masks

SA’s Covid-19 (Covid-19SA) Command Council has issued Regulations through the Minister of Transport that ALL passengers travelling by taxi, including taxi drivers, should wear surgical masks.

Local manufacturers have therefore been called upon to assist with the supply of “Surgical type: 3-Pleat” masks. These are NOT N95 masks, which are reserved for health care workers only

Details relating to the patterns, filters used and demand will be announced over the next few days.
